Key Person (your key person is on the top of your newsletter, which every child will recieve) – Every child is allocated a ‘Key Person.’ She will be responsible for doing the observations on your child and building up a learning Journey for you to keep when your child leaves the setting. Parents are children’s first and enduring educators. When parents and practitioners work together, the results have a positive impact on children’s development and learning. Your key person will build up a relationship with you and your child. If you have any concerns please speak to her or any of us and we will try to help you in any way we can to meet the needs of your child. We operate an open door policy so do not feel that you have to wait for an appointment to speak to us we are always willing to listen.
We also have organised some dates for your diaries for Parent consultation days. On these days the pre-school will be closed and your key person will arrange a time for you to come in and talk about how your child is getting on and ask any questions you may have. You also get the opportunity to look through your child’s learning journey.
These dates are:
30th October 2017
19th February 2018
4th June 2018
In your child’s book bag you have a reading book to share with your child, please sign when you would like it to be changed and you also have a book which your key person will write in about what your child is doing at pre-school and send home any messages to you. Please also use this book as a way of corresponding with your key person and write about what your child is doing, so it can be shared at circle time and any messages/questions you may have.
Your key person will send home a form letting you know what your child’s next step is and activities you can do to help them reach their goal, please complete these and return them to your child’s key person. Thankyou
